It was a big morning in literature for young people: The American Library Association announced the winners of their prestigious Youth Media Awards at the Midwinter meeting in Atlanta. John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature:

Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children:

Coretta Scott King (Author) Book Award, recognizing African American authors and illustrators of outstanding books for children and young adults:

Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in literature written for young adults:
