  • [Good-bye Klondike! Hello Virginus and King Solomon! The New historical scenes of Klondike will no longer be played. Horowitz put his name behind the work, Klondike, which usually guarantees the success of a show. For all his materpieces meet with great success. Unfortunately, the work hasnot met with the expected success because the large majority of visitors to the Jewish theatre are sufficiently familiar with Klondike to be interested in it. The company, that is committed to bring ing to our public the best and most interesting, has decided to change the program and instead of Klondike, to produce , on Friday 26 November 1897, the classic work, Viginius, the crown of all world drama in which Mr. David Kessler goes to great lengths to demonstrate that the Yiddish theatre has nothing to be ashamed of in relation to the world theatre. It is a work filled with the deepest emotions and captivating suspense from beginning to end. At the last benefit for David Kessler (when Virginius was played), all the tickets were sold and over hundred men were turned away from the theatre.
