Holiday Open House


Celebrate and Support Your Library!

Ring in the season of giving with fellow Library lovers and join in a proud Library tradition at the 31st Holiday Open House party!

On Sunday, December 2 the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland with a range of activities for guests of all ages:

  • See Charles Dickens’ personal copy of A Christmas Carol.
  • Enjoy seasonal music of all kinds, with carols, dancing, jazz and more.
  • Join the geography trivia challenge in the Maps division.
  • Get 10% off at the Library Shop.
  • Activities like face painting, crafts, magic shows, storytellers, and even stilt walkers will delight children of all ages!

The Holiday Open House is open to members at the $40 level and up. Join the Friends of the Library Program today and receive an invitation to this unique New York holiday event.
