Centennial Gala

On May 23, 2011 The New York Public Library marked the 100th anniversary of its flagship Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, with a glittering celebration of a century of extraordinary achievement.  One of the City's most treasured spaces, the Library represents a dedication to serving the neediest of its residents and the enduring principle that knowledge is the key to lifelong success. Through this event, more than $2.4 million was raised to support the Library’s essential work in this city.
