What makes you uniquely awesome? How can you use your strengths to support your community?

Join The New York Public Library this summer for our six-week Virtual Summer Camp program. Every week, kids and students of all ages, and their families, can find a new batch of fun, hands-on activities that promote learning, reading, and creativity—and can all be done from home.

Activities for Monday, June 29

Pre-K - Grade 2

Identity Puzzle

Design an 8-10 piece jigsaw puzzle with each piece showcasing a part of your personality.



Grades 3 - 5

You-seum

Collect objects around your home that represent who you are; make a museum style gallery display of the objects



Middle School & Up

Create Your Own Dance

Take a strengths-assessment quiz. Create a dance OR special handshake (à la TikTok) that represents who you are and why you're awesome. Teach it to others and/or film it.



 


 

Activities for Wednesday, July 1

Pre-K - Grade 2

Community Chalk Mural

Design a mural representing special places and people in your community as well as your own hobbies and interests; then create your mural on the sidewalk using chalk



Grades 3 - 5

Identity Flipbooks

Create a multi-page identity flipbook where each page reveals another layer of your personality



Middle School & Up

Heroic Self-Portrait

Create a portrait of yourself that shows your strengths and how they can benefit your world
