Join NYPL’s Thomas Yoseloff Business Center for a three-part webinar series on the history of women in finance and financial education today. Shennette Garrett-Scott, author of Banking on Freedom, explores how Black women built economic power while navigating Jane Crow. Josie Cox, author of Women Money Power, examines the rise and fall of economic equality for women. And financial expert Chris Blakely shares actionable steps to help women take charge of their futures.

Learn about the forgotten literary legacy of writer Sanora Babb, whose extensive field notes and oral histories of migrant farmworkers helped shape not only her own work but that of John Steinbeck in The Grapes of Wrath. Author Iris Dunkle sheds new light on Babb in her book, Riding Like the Wind, which draws from the Library’s archives. Join Dunkle and Emily Van Duyne for a conversation about Babb, her competition with Steinbeck, and her connections with the literary greats of her time.
