The Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP) provides free legal assistance to low- to moderate-income microentrepreneurs who are starting up or expanding a small business in NYC. NELP offers free legal assistance on issues such as determining the best legal structure and corporate formation, drafting and reviewing business contacts, negotiating commercial leases, and obtaining intellectual property protections including trademarks, copyrights and patents.
