The mission of BOEDC is to strengthen and expand current Bronx-based businesses, as well as to provide incentives to encourage businesses to establish or relocate to The Bronx and maximize employment opportunities for Bronx residents. 

BOEDC provides a wide range of programs and services to its clients, including site selection; financing and financial packaging; technical assistance; special projects; procurement assistance; liaison services with government agencies; information dissemination; workforce development and placement assistance; minority and small business development as well as capacity building.

BOEDC also provides three loan programs for qualified Bronx-based businesses through its Empowerment Zone programs.

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced a $50 million investment in life sciences at BioBAT to expand their lab space as part of the city’s LifeSci NYC initiative. NYCEDC and BioBAT officials toured the space that will receive funding to build new labs at BioBAT located at the Brooklyn Army Terminal.

BioBAT works to support the advancement of the life science industry in New York City by providing facilities and resources for scientific research and advanced manufacturing at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. BioBAT is helping New York City to attract and retain promising research firms and develop a skilled 21st Century workforce. BioBAT is a partnership created by the Research Foundation for SUNY, on behalf of Downstate Health Sciences University, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation.

 

 

The Brooklyn Navy Yard (the Yard) is a mission-driven industrial park that is a nationally acclaimed model of the viability and positive impact of modern, urban industrial development. BNYDC believes that the industrial sector can and will flourish in New York, employing a diverse cross-section of New Yorkers in jobs that offer real career pathways. BNYDC's vision is a vibrant and dense, modern manufacturing community where businesses are provided the stability needed to invest, grow, and thrive. As the Yard grows, BNYDC will facilitate the expansion of key uses that enable the success of the Yard's tenant businesses and support the stabilization and growth of the industrial sector. As the economic opportunity at the Yard increases, BNYDC will strive to find new and better ways to reach out to and partner with the local community to access these benefits.

 

The East Brooklyn Business Improvement District (EBBID) 's mission is focused on providing core maintenance and supportive services. The EBBID is a 40-block area in East New York, Brooklyn that is bordered by Powell Street to the West, Atlantic Avenue to the North, Pennsylvania Avenue to the East, and Sutter Avenue to the South.  The objectives of the EBBID are to enhance the business environment of the 40 block area and bolster local economic activity. 

The Greater Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation works for the benefit of more than 700 industrial businesses in Hunts Point, the largest food distribution center in the United States.

GHPEDC  continues to work with businesses in wholesale food manufacturing and distribution but has also engaged a wider range of business sectors and community development issues, including local workforce development, entrepreneurship, sustainability, transportation and housing. Our membership arm is the Greater Hunts Point Chamber of Commerce.

The membership arm, Greater Hunts Point Chamber of Commerce hosts business seminars and public events aimed at building connections between Hunts Point businesses, and between Hunts Point and other companies interested in doing business with Hunts Point.

Over the decades since, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation has become a nationally-recognized model of community rejuvenation and economic transformation. We are at the forefront of pandemic relief for small minority and woman-owned businesses while expanding to provide additional services including a Business Services Group, a Revolving Loan Fund and designated a Community Development Financial Institution. These services support local businesses with financial assistance, personalized technical support and access to resources and growth opportunities. 

Business Services include: Restaurant Incentives + Services, Industrial Business Incentives + Services,  and Small Business Loans and Financing. 

The Local Development Corporation of East New York [LDCENY] serves industrial and commercial businesses in the East New York and Brownsville communities. It manages the East Brooklyn Industrial Business Improvement District.  We empower low-to-moderate income women and minorities with programs that promote economic sufficiency, build assets and improve their lives and those of their families.  We work with local businesses to retain and build industry and commerce, create jobs and improve economic opportunities for local residents and neighborhood enterprise. Other programs under its management are the the New York State Empire Zones Program, which offers financial incentives to encourage businesses to invest, expand and create more jobs in the EZ, and the Women's Business Center. Services are available in Spanish and English.

 

The Center's goal is to improve NY City's approach to serving small businesses and entrepreneurs. Partnering with local development organizations in each borough permits the Department of Small Business Services [SBS] and the Center to offer small businesses easy access to a full range of city and private services not previously available from a single location.  Call 311 or Click here  for locations and details.
