In the United States, the Accion Opportunity Fund creates economic opportunity by connecting small business owners to affordable capital and the the business support they need to create and grow healthy enterprises and contribute to local economies. The Fund works by connecting entrepreneurs to affordable capital, educational resources, coaching, and networks. Through innovative partnerships and outreach strategies, Accion targets underserved entrepreneurs -- including entrepreneurs of color, low-income entrepreneurs, and women -- who often lack access to the financial services they need to build and grow their businesses.

 

Ascendus empowers low- to moderate-income (LMI) business owners with access to capital and financial education. At Ascendus works together with you to advance your business as well as your life. By providing various assistance -- from business loans, to counseling and training, we’re dedicated to helping passionate entrepreneurs build successful businesses that provide for families and improve communities. 

Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation aims to help close the racial wealth gap in Central Brooklyn's lower income neighborhoods through an economic mobility platform designed to help people become financially literate and independent.  These programs include the following: 

The Business Outreach Center Network  has four business centers focused on serving entrepreneurs in the greater New York area. 

BOC Network programs and services are designed to help you and your business succeed. Our services include Business Outreach Centers, Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers, BOC Capital Corp, BXL Bronx Incubator, Industrial Business Services Project, BOC Women's Business Centers, Childcare Business Development Project, Ascend NYC, and Manhattan MBDA Business Center.

 

Under the Business Outreach Center Network (BOC), the Women’s Business Center is a collection of resources with a focus on women, aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners in the greater New York City area.

With locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, the Women’s Business Center strives to provide accessible and equitable opportunities to individuals in New York looking to carve out their own industry spaces. At each resource center,  trained business and professional development counselors offer guidance on a variety of topics from finance and lending to legal advice.

If you're an aspiring entrepreneur or an existing business owner with bigger dreams, CAMBA services can strengthen your enterprise and drive growth. CAMBA offers one-on-one consultations, business plan workshops, start-up or expansion loans, and technology training. CAMBA will connect you with other business developmet partners and get you on track for a successful launch.

Established in 1995, CREDIT Inc., a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), offers three major services to small businesses in the South Bronx: 1) Loans that range from $100 to $15,000 from an in-house fund; 2) Loan packaging services for businesses that require loans greater than $15,000; and 3) Technical assistance. CREDIT Inc. helps businesses develop business plans, offers marketing assistance, prepares and analyzes cash flow projections, and assists with strategic planning. CREDIT Inc. also partners with other SoBRO programs to provide financial services and financial literacy seminars to individuals and businesses.

Black Women Impact Grants is a $10 million grant program with an open call application process for Black women-led charitable nonprofits. 50 organizations. Seven impact areas. One ambitious goal. 

Funded by the Goldman Sachs Foundation, Black Women Impact (BWI) Grants will support community-driven charitable nonprofit organizations created by and for Black women and girls. As part of the One Million Black Women initiative, our goal is to positively impact the lives of at least one million Black women by 2030.

Over the decades since, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation has become a nationally-recognized model of community rejuvenation and economic transformation. We are at the forefront of pandemic relief for small minority and woman-owned businesses while expanding to provide additional services including a Business Services Group, a Revolving Loan Fund and designated a Community Development Financial Institution. As a contracted service partner with NYC Business Solutions Industrial and Transportation, a program of the NYC Department of Small Business Services, GJDC’s Business Services Group delivers a set of free services to help Southeast Queens businesses operate and expand.
