Over the decades since, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation has become a nationally-recognized model of community rejuvenation and economic transformation. We are at the forefront of pandemic relief for small minority and woman-owned businesses while expanding to provide additional services including a Business Services Group, a Revolving Loan Fund and designated a Community Development Financial Institution. These services support local businesses with financial assistance, personalized technical support and access to resources and growth opportunities.

As a contracted service partner with NYC Business Solutions Industrial and Transportation, a program of the NYC Department of Small Business Services, GJDC’s Business Services Group delivers a set of free services to help Southeast Queens businesses operate and expand.

Upfront Capital Loans Pre-approval for loans from partner lenders for up to $150,000 for companies that are competing for City contracts;

SITE SELECTION ASSISTANCE

 

There are approximately 250 businesses in this one square mile In-Place Industrial Park [IPIP] zoned for light manufacturing. These businesses include food processors, wholesale distributors of goods, fabricated metals, and electric and electronic equipment. The IPIP offers area maintenance and upgrades, free security surveys, and referrals.

The South Jamaica Empire Zone offers a wide array of incentives including tax credits and utility discounts. Capital Access is a revolving loan fund that invests in community businesses to create community jobs. New and existing businesses located in Southeast Queens (in the 114xx and 116xx zip codes) are eligible to apply. Your business must have sales of less than $10,00,000 and fewer than 500 employees to be eligible for loans ranging from $10,000-$300,000. Loans can be used for: business expansion; facade or merchandizing improvement; the purchase of new equipment; buying or improving existing property; working capital; a gap loan as part of loan basket with other financing; or a bridge loan while waiting for funding from another committed source. One-to-one assistance to help prepare your loan application package is available to qualified applicants. Flexible loan packages can be tailored to meet special needs.
