- Summary
- This book was published on the occasion of Henry Moore: Wunderkammer - Origin of Forms at Gagosian, Davies Street, London. The exhibition explored the origins of and processes behind Moore's sculptures by recreating his maquette studio at Perry Green - now home to the Henry Moore Foundation - at the gallery. Moore's wunderkammer of found objects was presented alongside the drawings and sculptural maquettes that they inspired. The catalogue documents the exhibition, including reproductions of six relief sculptures, fifty-four maquettes and small sculptures, four large sculptures, and over seventy drawings, alongside thirty-five related archival images depicting Moore and the studio. It also features an illustrated essay by Richard Calvocoressi, the exhibition's curator and then director of the Henry Moore Foundation, and a conversation between Calvocoressi and Edmund de Waal. -- Gagosian website.
