Summary
  1. "Contemporary Voices: Works from The UBS Art Collection presents the work of a broad range of American and European artists of the last half-century, providing a window into the art-making of this period. What is today The UBS Art Collection was founded in the late 1960s by Donald B. Marron, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the financial-services firm PaineWebber; when that company merged with UBS in 2000, their art collections merged as well. Now maintained by UBS, the collection has a distinguished history of public outreach; it maintains an active lending program and has toured major museums throughout the United States. Now forty-four works from the collection have become promised gifts to The Museum of Modern Art - one of the most generous gifts of art made by a corporation to a public institution. Contemporary Voices documents not only the works contained in that gift but a selecion of additional works on loan from The UBS Art Collection."--BOOK JACKET.
