Summary
  1. Architect is a meditation on creativity based on the life and work of Louis I. Kahn (1902-1974), a major figure in twentieth-century architecture. Individuals important in the life of Louis Kahn inspired four of the opera's characters: the Guide, the Engineer, the Healer, and Woman -- an amalgam of three women important to Kahn. Momus, the Trickster god, embodies the mysterious nature of inspiration and artistic journeys.
