Summary

1. Documentary on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Broadway theater community. As it follows several individuals over a two-year period, starting in late winter 2020, this film chronicles the sudden realization of the gravity of the crisis; the unprecedented, prolonged shutdown of all theaters in New York City; the illnesses of several theater professionals, whether prominent or lesser-known; and the gradual rebirth of theater in the city as the worst period of the pandemic passed. The challenges faced by several plays and musicals in particular are examined, including Wicked, Hadestown, Pass over, Six, Waitress, and Lackawanna blues.
