- Note
- This State of the Earl of Stirling's title to land located between St. Croix and Pemaquid, in Maine, was printed to accompany an advertisement, dated July 20, 1768, for the sale of 100,000 acres of that land (Bristol 2959). Both broadsides were probably printed by James Parker at Woodbridge, N.J., near Basking Ridge, where the Earl of Stirling's office was located. Cf. Sabin 90611, and Maine Historical Society, Documentary history of the state of Maine, vol. 14, 1910, pp. 87-91.
