Description
  1. 1 videocassette (VHS) (110 min.) : sound, color; 1/2 in.
Summary
  1. Panel discussion devoted to the Shubert Organization, the venerable theatrical company which has been involved in both theater ownership and production throughout the 20th century. Gerald Schoenfeld and Bernard B. Jacobs, co-chief executive officers of the organization, discuss its history and operations. They are joined by top staff members Philip J. Smith, Robert Wankel, and Lee Silver. There is discussion of the economic issues which have had an impact on rising costs, and the consequent increase in ticket prices. Much of this talk is focused on the current production of The life and adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, co-produced by the Shubert Organization. The panelists also field questions from members of the audience. The first question is posed by Mitchell McGuire, co-founder of the comedy club Manhattan Punchline.
