  1. Black English and the Education of Black Children and Youth was a symposium held by the Center for Black Studies of Wayne State University in 1980. The symposium was held in the wake of the 1979 Martin Luther King Junior Elementary School Children v. Ann Arbor School District Board case, regarding whether standard English or Black English schould be taught in schools in order to best teach students and combat illiteracy.
