  • Label on initial leaf: "171 pages measuring 8 3/4" x 6 3/4", bound in full vellum with 'Contess of Caledon' stamped on cover in gold. Eight selections from four operas by Giacchino Rossini, great Italian composer; six vocal duets, one with accompaniment of small orchestra (violins, viola, cello, flutes, clarinets and horsn), the others with piano; one vocal quartett 'a canone' and one vocal solo, all written in the clear contemporary hand. Probably done specially for the Countess of Caledon."
