Local Note
The Schomburg Center has three copies of the book; they are gifts added to the collection at various periods. Copy 1 (accession no. G126377) is part of the Research & Reference Division; probably added to the collection, during Catherine A. Latimer's time as collection librarian & Arthur A. Schomburg's, as Curator; imperfect: brittle, loose pages, lack original cover, bound in hunter green cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine. Currently, encase in an NYPL-made phase box. Copy 2 (accession no. G238774) is originally part of the 67th Street Branch of the New York Public Library and is also part of the Research & Reference Division. Probably one of the books transferred to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer, collection librarian, and Lawrence Reddick, Curator. Imperfect: brittle, torn, & loose pages, lack original cover and bound in avocado green cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine. Copy 3 in Sc Rare 309.173-W (accession no. G307521) is probably a post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the collection, which is part of the Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division. Imperfect: brittle, loose pages, and torn case.
