- Summary
- Manuscript notebook recording prose extracts, poems, sermons, and other writings, all apparently in the hand of Augusta Leigh. "Augusta Byron / May 13th 1802" on [leaf 1] recto. Latest dated entry is from October 27, 1821. Entities largely taken from established 18th and 19th century British and Irish writers; a few works are possibly unpublished. Among the many writers included are: Hugh Blair, Hannah More, Charlotte Smith, Joanna Baillie, Thomas Campbell, Ann Radcliffe, George Canning, and Thomas Moore. Starting from the end of the notebook, reverso, are 43 pages of Biblical extracts and prayers in French, apparently not in the hand of Augusta Leigh.
