Description
  1. 1 videocassette (VHS) (86 min.) : sound, color; 1/2 in.
Summary
  1. Panel discussion devoted to two current Broadway revivals, both produced by the team of Barry Weissler & Fran Weissler: the musical Gypsy, starring Tyne Daly, and Tennessee Williams' drama Cat on a hot tin roof, starring Kathleen Turner. Arthur Laurents, librettist for Gypsy who is also director of the current revival, discusses issues such as casting, budgeting the production, and persuading audiences to see Daly, a television star not known for her work in musical theater. The Weisslers talk about some of the challenges they faced in scheduling the play with Turner, who had to postpone the Williams production in order to take a movie role. The panelists also take questions from the audience.
