  1. This book presents for the first time photographs taken by the Swedish free jazz pioneer Sven-Åke Johansson during his concert tours in the 1960s and 1970s. Cityscapes and landscapes, snapshots of everyday life, portraits of friends, fellow musicians and family are recorded as if in passing here, providing insights into an artist's life "on the road". Autobiographical and historical moments merge into a subtle artistic self-positioning. As in his music, Johansson brings seemingly insignificant details and situations into focus and elicits unexpected poetic dimensions from them. In this way, the photographs converge into an equally personal and laconic inventory of a "time past". // Das Buch präsentiert erstmals Fotografien des schwedischen Free Jazz-Pioniers Sven-Åke Johansson, die während seiner Konzerttourneen in den 1960er- und 1970er-Jahren entstanden sind. Städtebilder und Landschaften, Momentaufnahmen aus dem Alltag, Porträts von Freunden, Musikerkollegen und Familie, wie beiläufig notiert, geben einen Einblick in ein Künstlerleben "auf Reisen". Autobiografischer und historischer Moment0verbinden sich zu einer subtilen künstlerischen Selbstverortung. Wie in seiner Musik rückt Johansson scheinbar nebensächliche Dinge oder Situationen in den Fokus und entlockt ihnen ungeahnte poetische Dimensionen. ebenso persönlichen wie lakonischen Bestandsaufnahme einer "vergangenen Zeit".
