Summary

1. Panel discussion devoted to the current Broadway production of Jelly's last jam, starring Gregory Hines, based on the life and career of jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton. Co-producers Margo Lion and Pamela Koslow discuss the show's development, funding challenges, and eventual success with audiences. Attorney Jean Ward, affiliated with the show as legal counsel, tells of some of the difficulties faced by the production team in clearing music rights, etc. Richard Kornberg, the show's press agent, and Rick Elice, who devised its advertising campaign, talk about those aspects of the production. The panelists also take questions from the audience.
