Description
[2], 29 pages (40 total leaves); 22 cm
Summary
Manuscript of the unpublished sequel to the author's A Few Days in Paris (1802), sold by J. Hatchard. Includes a title page designed to mimic a printed one, with the motto: "In our Pursuit after Pleasure we / should never forget it is Pleasure we seek." 76 numbered and ruled pages follow, with text in ink and pencil on pages 1, 3, 5 and 6-29 only. Bound together with a copy of A Few Days in Paris with many manuscript alterations, apparently by the author in preparation for a second edition. With the armorial bookplate of Joshua Ruddock, probably the Rev. Joshua Ruddock of Fulham Park; and the later bookplate of Paul Lacombe.
