- Summary
- The final film in the five-part PBS series America's war on poverty, My brother's keeper follows the partnership of the Nixon Administration and the National Welfare Rights Organization, who brought the nation to the brink of overhauling the federal social security system and replacing welfare with a guaranteed income for all citizens. When it appeared this income would be quite small, the NWRO joined an alliance of conservatives and liberals to defeat the proposed legislation.
