- Summary
- Late winter 1964. The record year has begun, and both Nikita Khrushchev and the Beatles are going to visit Sweden. Inspector Leonard Ringer is approaching his 50th birthday with mixed feelings. A young man perishes on the ice in a manner that puzzles the Uppsala police. Leonard travels to the industrial city of Karlskoga, to the dead man's family, migrant workers from Europe's darkest corner. The visit is short and leads to a hospital bed. When Ringer is on his feet again it is already spring. He goes back to Karlskoga, where many encounter, both criminal and merely human, await him. In this novel we meet the main character from "De våra : en kriminalistisk roman" again, 20 years later in his life.
