Summary

1. In this discussion devoted to stage design, the panelists discuss their experiences in designing sets, costumes and lighting for the theater. Papp and Maharam present the 1982-83 Joseph Maharam Foundation Awards for Theater Design to members of the experimental theater collective Mabou Mines for their productions Cold Harbor, Hajj, and Company; to Ming Cho Lee for the play K2 (accepted by his assistant, Leslie Taylor); and to Patricia Zipprodt for the plays Don Juan and Alice in Wonderland. The recipients discuss their design work and then respond to questions from audience members.
