As part of the 2011 Women's Jazz Festival, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture presents a concert by the Spelman College Jazz Ensemble, an all female jazz ensemble that features a unique combination of vocalists, wind instrumentalists, and rhythm section. In this concert the Jazz Ensemble gives tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald. The concert features the music of Duke Ellington, Frank Foster, Abbey Lincoln, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Oliver Nelson, Duke Pearson, and Bobby Timmons.
