- Personal journal. Excerpt from Preface: "Like most personal journals, each composition that he did over time, was an expression of what was on his mind, what books he had just enjoyed - he was a fan of Jack London. He also had considerable discussion of the 1924 election that was won by Calvin Coolidge. He also included some "flashbacks," apparently from other previous writings including his experience as a doctor in World War I, that was mostly his experience with his own illness during that time. His interests were broad, his long discussion of ideas on how the calendar should be improved was impressive as he made a case on why it should be changed. As a doctor in Sisters, Oregon, he also reported on births, patient illnesses he was treating and who was not paying their bills. Local news of the region also was often described. Only he would have known the significance of pasting cigar bands on select pages of the journal. After reading the journal we have a sense of his life, accomplishments and interests."
