Summary
  • Materials includes primarily posters and graphic designs documenting the productions and people associated with Caffe Cino, a coffee house and the first off-off Broadway theater in New York City, which operated in Greenwich Village between 1958 and 1968. A small group of graphic material also relates to the designs by Ken Burgess and others for the 1985 exhibition on the Caffe Cino held at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
  • Included in this collection are a poster for Jim Perkinson's play A Recollection of Cabbage Roses (1963 Aug); a poster for William Hoffman's play Thank You, Miss Victoria (circa 1965); two silver stars made by Magie Dominic for Dames at Sea (1966); a printing plate for program for Robert Patrick's New Work series of 3 "mini-plays" (1966); poster for Robert Heide's Why Tuesday Never has a Blue Monday (1966); three B&W large-format photos of Soren Agenoux and others in the play Chas. Dickens' Christmas Carol (1966); a collage Christmas card created by Ken Burgess for Joe Cino (Dec 25, 1966); a B&W photo enlargement of Magie Dominic and Joe Cino at Caffe Cino (circa 1966); a poster for Oscar Wilde's Salomé directed by Jim Perkinson (February-March 1964); an original artwork poster commemorating the 200th performance of Neil Flanagan as Lady Bright (circa 1968); original artwork "Harry's Birthday is June 4" (circa 1962-1968); and a poster for H.
