Summary
  1. Documentary on The New York Public Library, which examines the institution's history and cultural impact. While the emphasis is on the main branch of the library at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue, the film also examines two of the NYPL's research centers, the Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center, and Harlem's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, as well as the city's branch library system. Includes excerpts from interviews with library administrators, board members, and advocates from the world of literature and the performing arts.
