Documentary on the life and career of stage director, critic, and author Harold Clurman. Includes excerpts from interviews with Clurman and several of his friends and associates, as well as a lecture Clurman delivered on theater to a college class. Also includes a sequence in which Clurman directs actors Richard Dysart and Joan Hackett in a scene from Ibsen's The lady from the sea.
