Note
  1. Programs (1907 -1942) for The wild duck by Henrik Ibsen, translated into English by William Archer, mainly for productions in the United States with some in England. Of note is a production at McVicker's Theatre (Chicago) directed by and starring Wright Lorimer [aka Walter Myron Smith and Rev. Walter M. B. Lowell]; a number of productions starring Alla Nazimova; a number of productions directed by and starring Blanch Yurka, including a 1937 production with Vincent Price and the 1929 tour in which Yurka helped launch the career of Bette Davis by casting her as Hedvig.
  2. Romney Brent is credited as the assistant stage manager in the 1925 revival by The Actors' Theatre (formerly, The Equity Players). Jo Mielziner is credited with the design of the ladies' costumes.
  3. Cover art on a program for Gilmor Brown's 1928 production at the Pasadena Community Playhouse is a woodcut portrait of Henrik Ibsen by Ralph Freud, who played Werle.
  4. Charlton Heston is credited in a bit part in a 1942 production at Northwestern University Theatre directed by Alvina Krause.
  5. Some of the programs contain advertising in support of US efforts during World War I. There is some marginalia by theatre-goers.
  6. A number of the programs belong to the Robinson Locke Collection, The Players Collection, or are stamped: "Office Alice Kauser 152 West 42nd Street New York City"
