Summary

1. Documentary on the creation of the stage musical Sunset Boulevard, featuring interviews with composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, director Trevor Nunn, performer Glenn Close, and others involved with the production. Includes performance sequences from the London and Los Angeles productions, clips from the 1949 film on which the musical was based, and interviews with actress Nancy Olson, who co-starred in the movie, and former President Ronald Reagan, who discusses his friend William Holden, the film's leading man.
2. Following the documentary, there are brief segments from British television news programs concerning the West End production of Sunset Boulevard. Includes an interview with Betty Buckley and John Barrowman, who appeared in the revised London production of the show in 1994. Barrowman performs the show's title song. Also includes brief performance footage featuring Patti LuPone, who appeared in the London production in 1993.
