- "El blues surgió en el sur de los Estados Unidos pero alcanzó difusión a escala global. Las primeras expresiones de música folclórica norteamericana que más tarde darían forma al género llegaron a la Argentina a fines del siglo XIX y, desde entonces, ya sea como forma musical independiente o como parte del repertorio de los músicos de jazz, la presencia e influencia del blues fue creciente. A partir de la década del sesenta, en el contexto de un redescubrimiento y revalorización a nivel internacional, el blues en la Argentina comenzó a adquirir características particulares de la mano del naciente rock nacional que lo adoptó como parte de su lenguaje. - The blues originated in the southern United States but spread globally. The first expressions of American folk music that later would shape the genre came to Argentina in the late nineteenth century and, since then, either as an independent musical form or as part of the repertoire of jazz musicians, the presence and influence of blues was on the rise. From the sixties, in the context of an international rediscovery and appreciation, the blues in Argentina began to acquire particular characteristics in the hands of the nascent national rock movement which adopted it as part of their language. But it was during the nineties where frequent performances of international musicians in the country, among whom could be seen both legendary and young American bluesmen, that there was an unexpected boom in local blues that hasn't stopped growing and expanding in the following decades. The journey through these exciting stories of the musicians, groups, places, styles, travel and lovers of this art form in the country confirms that the blues has become part of the music and culture of Argentina.
