Contains a rehearsal of music to be used for the White Oak Dance Project's performances of Merce Cunningham's Signals (1970). Second week of January was commissioned by the White Oak Dance Project, and the pre-recorded tapes of each composer were meant to be mixed in real-time for the performances by "the White Oak audio engineer...using the source material provided by the Cunningham musicians". The Second week of January is based on the initial concept by John Cage for Signals, titled the First week of June, a collaboration with composers Gordon Mumma and David Tudor.
