- The Henry Southern manuscript material in the Pforzheimer Collection consists of letters to J. A. Hessey and John Taylor of the publishing firm Taylor and Hessey. The correspondence dates from 1 January of 1825 to 1 March of 1826, and almost exclusively deals with the subject of the London Magazine. Southern became editor of the new series of the magazine in January of 1825 and took over ownership the following September.
