- Summary
- A compilation of footage featuring dancer/choreographers Merce Cunningham, Katherine Litz and Daniel Nagrin. All footage is silent, with no soundtrack, and appears to be from the late 1950s or early 1960s. The first section features Litz dancing an unknown solo piece in what may be a rehearsal room. The second features Cunningham conducting a dance workshop in a setting which appears to be a gym of some kind (7:32), with the final segment showing Nagrin conducting a class in a similar setting to that of the Cunningham portion. (11:12) All three dancers appeared and/or taught at NYC's 92nd Street Y during this time period, and it is possible that the latter two sequences, at least, were shot there, though this cannot currently be verified. Additionally, all three were involved with an organization called Dance Horizons in Highland Park, Illinois, so there is some possibility that this might be the setting seen in the footage as well.
