- Summary
- "Lepidoptera is a collection of moths largely found in the Northwestern United States, though a few exotic species were included. The Oregon State Arthropod Collection in Corvallis, Oregon, generously loaned the moth specimens represented in this book ... Thirty-two etchings were drawn from the specimens onto copper, etched, and printed by Sarah Horowtiz at Atelier Mars. The custom tinted paper was hand made by Katie MacGregor specifically for this book. Spectrum types were printed by Arthur Larson of Horton Tank Graphics [Hadley, Mass.]. Claudia Cohen bound the edition. Lepidoptera was designed and produced by Sarah Horowtiz of Wiesedruck"--Colophon.
- Printed on light greenish gray paper. The essay by Woolf is printed letterpress on leaves 5 (recto and verso) and 6 (recto). Blank leaf, not counted in collation, precedes double-page etching on folded leaf.
- Illustrations: 33 prints : etchings, some with engraving and/or aquatint ; plate marks various sizes, chiefly full-page (one double-page on folded leaf). Thirty-two depict moth specimens, including larval forms and a cocoon; the last, above colophon, depicts a thistle.
