- Sept. 20 letter (2 leaves) discusses the influence of Suetonius on Graves’s novel Claudius the God, an advance copy of which he promises to send to Buchan.
- Nov. 15 letter (1 leaf) responds to Buchan’s expression of admiration for Claudius the God, the writing of which, Graves says, was facilitated by a “curious personal sympathy” for the historical figure.
