The interview covers such topics as exploration of baroque music; Marriner's choice of repertoire; his engagement with Minnesota Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, and other venues while leading the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields that he founded; his career from violinist to conductor; the limitations and capacities of classical musicians; and his high opinion of American orchestral musicians.
