- Summary
- A fourteen-stanza manuscript draft in the hand of "D.M.," an otherwise unidentified versifier; begins, "Oh thou, among poets the first / in proud Britannia nurst ..."; with a number of deletions and corrections. Along with an earlier draft of stanzas VIII through XIV of the same poem (S'ANA 0630b), and what appears to be a fragment of an early draft of stanza I (S'ANA 0630c), which begins, "Immortal Spirit! / <loss> the mighty youth, who first, / <loss> [---n] Anglia's bosom nurst ...," though it is marked as being "by C.N." Also with a one page draft of another poem by D.M., "A Letter to Aristarchus Carlie, Esq." (S'ANA 0630d), which, along with the ode to Shelley, was published in R. Carlile's journal The Lion, volume 3, number 11, on Friday, March 13, 1829.
