[Music; introductory remarks by unidentified male.] Marian Horosko, host, on the radio program World of Dance, introduces her guests Merle Lister and Erick Hawkins; Lister speaks, at her studio (The studio of creative movement), with Horosko about her company (Merle Lister and Dance Company) including current and upcoming performances; her transition from ballet to modern dance; and her method for working with her and her dancers' bodies.

Marian Horosko, host on the radio program World of Dance, speaks with Erick Hawkins about his performances at Expo 67 as a representative of United States modern dance including how his company was chosen; how he defines the term "avant garde;" the phrase "avant garde classicism;" his disapproval of pointe shoes; Hawkins' work John Brown [closing remarks and introduction of Alvin H. Reiss].

- Interviews with Merle Lister (approximately 5 minutes) and with Erick Hawkins (approximately 9 minutes) conducted by Marian Horosko, as host; and interview with Bertha Pollack (approximately 7 minutes), conducted by Alvin H. Reiss as host, each in New York City for the series, World of Dance, on radio station WNYC-FM, New York. The interviews were conducted in June,1967.
