Summary
  1. Tracks 4-13: John Fearnley, a stage manager and director closely identified with the work of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, speaks about them; the songs and musicals they wrote and he directed; the shows they produced; the fall out between Berlin and Rodgers; the preparation of "Annie get your gun" written by Berlin and produced by Rodgers and Hammerstein; music composed for The King and I; Cole Porter and other prominent composers and lyricists, and such. He recounts many details and episodes related to the period he worked for Rodgers and Hammerstein, and to performers and associates. These two interviews take place within one week from each other and blend into one.
  2. Includes a 10 minute interview (tracks 1-3), recorded in London on October 19, 1971 and conducted by Wilk, with a theater producer Michael (Mike)Ellis who briefly speaks about the creation of a famous song "Mona Lisa;" Betty Davis's performance in "Two's Company" that he produced with James Russo; composer Duke Vernon who wrote music for that show; songs "Purple rose," "You came out of a clear blue sky", and a few others. Wilk and Elis share stories related to musicals, performers, and songwriters.
