- Summary
- A dialog between Harry Belafonte and Cornel West on the topic "the artist in political struggle," and moderated by Kelvin Shawn Sealey of the Obsidian Society. West begins the dialog with the question, and Belafonte discusses his view of art in the context of his childhood and youth: art that propagandized and told stories about the human condition -- the art of the movies; the art of radio and what radio disseminated as the truth and values of the day and how as he matured he began to think about and explore the political context of art. A question-and-answer session follows the discussion.
