Summary
  1. Robert Troup (1757-1832) was a lawyer and land agent from New York State. He served as an officer with the American army during the Revolution, practiced law in Albany and New York City, was elected to the State Assembly, and in 1796 was appointed judge of the United States district court of New York. From 1801 to 1832 he was land agent of the Pulteney Estate of England for properties in western New York. Collection consists of letters sent from Albany, Geneva and New York, New York, primarily to attorneys, pertaining to legal, land and other business matters.
