Summary
  1. Collection consists largely of letters from William Techumseh Sherman to Col C. W. Moulton, 1874 to 1875. Also includes a copy of a letter from J. W. Draper to Sherman concerning H. V. Boynton's criticism of Sherman's memoirs; a contemporary transcript of Sherman's letter to James M. Calhoun and the City Council of Atlanta regarding his orders to evacuate civilians from the city; and other brief letters to and from various parties relating to his official duties. Also present are a cabinet card and carte de visite featuring photographs of Sherman by Matthew Brady, a calling card, and several autographs.
