Summary

1. Disc 1 (first approximately 24 minutes of the recording), December 18, 1981. Pauline Koner states the date, place and purpose of her visit to Kitty Doner; Koner and Doner speak about various personal matters; Koner also states that Doner's press materials and photographs will be held by John Doner [conversation ends abruptly; short gap], From approximately 16:45 minutes to 24:28 minutes into the recording, Koner, now alone, states her thoughts and feelings about Doner.
2. Disc 1, continued (begins abruptly, at approximately 24:31 minutes into the recording). Conversation among Pauline Koner, her friend Corrine [Chochem], and a man identified only as "Corrine's friend." The topic of the conversation is Palestine around 1932, in particular the topography as Koner remembered it [ends abruptly but continues on disc 2].
3. Disc 2 (approximately 33 minutes). Continuation of recording made by Pauline Koner of her conversation with the friend of Corinne Chochem, primarily about Palestine around 1932 including Koner's relationship with the poet. Alexander Penn. Chochem participates briefly in the conversation near the end of the recording.

2. The first part of this recording (approximately 25 minutes) was made by Pauline Koner on the occasion of her visit to Kitty Doner (a former vaudeville performer) at Doner's home in El Monte, California, on December 18, 1981. The second part (approximately 41 minutes) made by Koner of her conversation with Corinne Chochem (teacher and performer of Israeli folk dance) and a man identified only as "Corinne's friend," at Chochem's house, probably in Los Angeles, California, and probably in December 1981 (on or after December 18) or early 1982. The purpose of the latter conversation (to which "Corinne's friend" contributes far more than Chochem), seems to be to in furtherance of Koner's research for a book she is writing (at least in part) about her time in Palestine in 1932.
3. Sound quality is fair. The recording contains extraneous noise including "tape hiss" and occasional short gaps. Also, Kitty Doner's voice is soft at times. However, for the most part the speakers' voices are almost always easily intelligible.
