Letters to and from American soldier, publisher, and author George Haven Putnam relating to matters of writing, publishing, editorial concerns, and "a scheme for the incorporation of the Knickerbocker Press." One letter, dated February 11, 1864, is written to Putnam's parents George Palmer Putnam and Victorine Haven Putnam, and concerns his service in the Civil War.
