- Summary
- Letter from Luigi Monti, instructor of Italian at Harvard University and United States Consul to Italy, to William (no last name given), dated at Palermo, March 19th, 1869. Letter relates to an anticipated visit from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; his quality of life in Palermo; concerns over the education of his daughter; and his consular work, diplomatic conditions, and interest in a position in Marseilles. References to Mrs. Parsons suggest that the recipient may be the poet Thomas William Parsons, Monti's brother-in-law.
